I've worked as a lawyer for many years, which has taught me a lot about life, leadership, and myself.  I started out working at a top law firm (which was basically like living real life "Survivor"), and eventually started my own law firm which I ran for about 7 years.  

 

My career seemingly reached a pinnacle when I was approached to act as Chief Operating Officer and head of government relations of a global business committed to doing good overseas - while overseeing my growing law firm.  From the outside I looked like I had "made it".  But I wasn't happy -- not even close.  All the external success was only serving to fuel the near constant anxiety I lived with - anxiety that I thought would just always be part of my life.    As my stress levels continued to increase, I realized I needed to get quiet and figure out what was wrong.  As I did, I came to realize that at some point in my life I had stopped living authentic to my heart and had started living to look worthy.  I wasn't living in alignment with my true priorities, and I needed to make some serious changes. So I quit the COO job, wound the firm down to be a flexible solo practice, and stayed home with my kids. I pursued healing like my life depended on it. 

 

I started asking myself what I wanted and what lit me up - apart from what anyone else would think about it.  Instead of spending all my time running towards things that drained me, I got clear on what I wanted.  I prioritized being with my kids.  I wrote and published a book.  I became a certified dance teacher and started teaching dance classes. I also ran classes to help women find the freedom that I did.  And I loved it. Through that, Liberate was birthed. And through that process, I received more emotional and physical healing, peace and emotional stability than I would have believed was possible.

I LOVE teaching dance.  There are few things that bring me as much joy as being in a dance studio teaching kids - or adults (it's never too late!). I have my ADAPT Dance Teaching Certificate, 15+ years of dance experience, and I ran the dance ministry and training at our church for many years. 

 

I also love helping women find the freedom that I’ve experienced, and to step into their most authentic and liberated life.  I believe that women hold so many missing solutions to global problems, and that the world will change as we are empowered to step fully forward.

A year and a half ago, Karl joined me in Liberate and we began to dream about what it would look like to empower individuals, and specifically parents, together with the keys and tools we've learned.  What if we as parents received the tools and support we needed to truly thrive rather than just survive in our seasons of parenthood? What would it look like for kids to grow up without emotional wounds, so that they could step fully forward with boldness and confidence in all God made them to do and be as they enter adulthood? What would it look like to create atmospheres of revival in our homes, and kids who are passionate about God and know who He has made them to be?

 

From that, Strong Mothers and Mighty Fathers was born to support parents to partner with God to become the mothers and fathers they always dreamed of being.  

 

We believe change is possible. We believe Jesus can change everything.
